Could a heat pump system work for your home or business?

  AreYour premises suitable?

The short answer is yes... but check the details below to see if it would be really beneficial.

What type of heating system do you currently have? if its electric, oil or lpg then a heat pump will save you up to 80% in running costs.  If you have gas then the savings will be less but still noticeable.
Heat pumps work by extracting the heat from outside and putting in your room, there is heat in the air even down to minus 273!
Whatever you have a heat pump will produce less than 50% of the C02 emmisions so your carbon footprint will be much lower.

Is your home well insulated up to current building regulations?  A well insulated home will save more of the heat generated from escaping too fast and therefore the heat pump will run less.  We suggest a minimum of 250mm loft insulation, double glazing or single glazed windows fully draughtproofed, thick underlay and carpets if possible, cavity wall insulation where possible or insulated dry lining which is an even better insulator.

Is your home still being built? Now is the time to contact Delta about making plans for an eco heat pump installation.

We have three types of heat pump systems available, the air to water system that works like a central heating boiler by heating water first and sending around the radiator system or underfloor heating.
The air to air heat pump, this is more efficient, more controllable and faster to work, there are fan coil units sited at high level on the walls and these are connected to the condensing unit outside.  Also possible in single story properties is a ducted system in the roof space and small vents within the ceiling, this type of heat pump is barely detectable (apart from the low cost heat!)
It is possible to site the outdoor unit in a well insulated loft space, attic or cellar.
The third option but normally only suitable to homes with large gardens is the ground source heat pump, this has a slight benefit over air systems in that it will always provide a decent heat source no matter what the weather. The efficiencies overall are generally less though and the options are less. The cost is always much higher too.
