This heat recovery ventilation system is ideally sited in the loft or attic space and has flexible ducting extracting warm stale air from your bathroom and kitchen area.  This heat exchange unit offers up to 250 cu. mts per hour airflow. Enough for most 3 or 4 bedroom properties of around 500cu. mtrs.
It then replaces that air with incoming fresh air ( as per Building Regulations) and exchanges the heat taken out to preheat the incoming air. These systems work with up to 85% efficiency meaning instead of extracting heat and fumes just to outdoors this air is extracted but its heat content is saved and reintroduced.
A Code 4 property and above will require these units and from 2013 all new build properties will require one of these to save lost heat and energy.
This unit is ideal for new builds and single story buildings but may be more difficult to install in a house that is already built owing to the routing of the trunking.
The duct size is 150mm but can be reduced to 100mm for the trunking within the property.
