Function

The solar thermic panel (solar header) is a device that converts the solar radiation into thermic energy. This energy is utilized to heat the sanitary water for daily use and to integrate the heating system.

The solar headers are divided in two categories:

  • COMPACT SYSTEMS: these are monoblock systems with closed circuit that base the circulation on the convention. They do not need therefore electrical pumps. The vector liquid (glycol) inside the panels , getting warmer, starts to expand and it floats on the cooler one. The motion upwards keep the heat in contact with the sanitary water inside the tank;
  • PUMPED SYSTEMS: in this case the tank is mounted separately (under the roof or in the boiler room) and the circulation of the glycol is supported by an electric pump controller by an electrical board. As shown in the main picture.

The natural and forced circulation headers are divided between:

  • FLATE PLATE COLLECTORS: it is composed by a transparent glass that allows the solar radiations to pass in and stops those going out;
  • EVACUATED TUBE COLLECTORS: it is composed by glass pipes inside of which a vacuum is created to avoid the heat dispersion. Inside of them it is positioned a copper pipe that absorbes the heat.
