Climate Change and Renewable Energy

Renewable Energy is energy derived from sources occurring naturally in the environment and that are naturally replenished or inexhaustible. These sources ultimately originate from either, the sun and its part to play in the Earth's weather systems and climate or the gravitational effect of the moon and its influence on tides. They sources are therefore sources such as wind, solar, tidal, geothermal and more. There are a great many advantages to using renewable energy and it is an industry that is growing rapidly. The main reason for this rise is the simple fact of climate change. Put simply much of the energy we use today comes from the burning of fossil fuels. These fossil fuels release greenhouse gasses that harm the environment in numerous ways. These gasses, when released into the earth's atmosphere, contribute to climate change. As well as Climate change the burning of fossil fuels also leads to general pollution that can have a negative impact on the world. Burning fossil fuels leads to an increase in localized air pollution and this poor air quality can have serious health risks for people living in that locale. This can also lead to acid rain which can have a terrible impact on both animal and plant life. A further problem with fossil fuels is that they all have a finite and diminishing supply. This leads to a number of problems such as ever increasing costs of energy as fuels such as oil, gas and coal run low. This can also have an economic impact because the areas of the world without fossil fuels become reliant on those with fossil fuels.
