The Wrinkled Stocking, Holmfirth, West Yorkshire
Holmsfirth, the setting for the Last of the Summer Wine BBC series is the home of the Wrinkled Stocking Cafe, a popular spot for visitors to eat. The Cafe, located just next door to Nora Battys house, was desperate for a solution to the summer heat in their kitchen and they approached TEV for their help. An Eco 35 heat pump was selected as it would give 3.5kW of cooling and 3.7kW of heating, perfect for the kitchens needs throughout the year. The installation offered challenges and became an issue of concern however, even to the BBC. The solution was eventually found in fitting the unit under the steps at the back of the cottage and running a discreet pipe from the unit to the kitchen. The owners, Sue and Chris now enjoy cooled comfort on hot summer days and that much needed warmth for the winter mornings.
